sleeep.... how i do love sleeeeep!

I would like to officially announce that my little girl Phoebe Rose is now sleeping in her bed all night by herself and without wetting it! Im so proud of her! She only showed signs of wanting to potty train about 2 months ago even though we have kept the potty in her sights for a year now! Everytime we put her on the potty she would scream so loud she was really scared of it so we didn't push her to go on it, one day she just decided to sit on it and do a pee to our amazement! we gave her so much praise that from that moment on she has sat on the potty to do her business and everytime we here a magnificent 'TADA' that comes from the bathroom to announce her achievements in the potty...hilarious!
We have had sleep problems over the last couple of years as she co-slept with us downside being it was extremely difficult to get her into her own room and bed, and two months later we have had no day or night accidents and a very happy well slept toddler.....and mummy and daddy who no longer have to get up in the night to return her to her bed.....life is bliss! My new baby Miles is six months and unlike Phoebe sleeps in his own cot in our room and only comes into our bed to have a breastfeed and then hes back in his own bed so i can only hope it will stay like this, im so proud of my babies!

the green green garden

What a glorious day its been in sunny old England today, it feels like spring to me now and beautiful flowers are everywhere - until my 2 year old picks them! We love vegetables in our house, well me and Phoebe do, my son Miles will soon enough as he is being weaned soon but my husband still wouldn't eat them if they were pureed, tasted of beer and smothered over a beautiful models body! He does however love to have a go at growing them which we have been doing for the last couple of years, we have helped out on my father in laws allotment but this year we are taking things into our own hands and growing on our garden...i feel confident it will go well! We have some small plants we have grown from seed ready to go out soon including peas, carrots, butternut squash and a rather (i hope) impressive hanging basket with tiny tomatoes! We tried onions, garlic and herbs last year which did well.....oh and not forgetting the all important pumpkin! My daughter Phoebe loved getting involved last year on the allotment and shes even more keen this year, i really think she is understanding how things grow now having planted them from seed and watching the tiny shoots sprout everyday and not to mention a rather striking looking fellow called mr grasshead who has taken up residence on my window sill, she gets up everyday so excited to see if his hair has grown and to give him a little drink! These pictures are of last year on the allotment but i will post some soon of us gardening this year!

Fay's Family food!

Good morning!
In the post this morning my new recipe book arrived by Fay Ripley called 'Fay's Family Food'. I had to put a comment up about it because after reading it there is honestly not one recipe that i dont want to make! its fabulous! I have shelves of cookbooks that i have purchased and hundreds of recipes eagerly await me to cook them, i am a firm believer in making one meal to suit all, i have been there and done the whole making 3 different meals a night and i hated it so much that by the end of it i usually skipped mine for some tea and biscuits!
I love food and i love cooking for my family, unfortunately i have a husband who will not eat vegetables...i have tried everything and have resorted to blending them into sauces and such to get some goodness into him...i dont see much change for him on the horizon but i live in hope and still put a potion of veg on his plate. My daughter Phoebe goes through stages of liking something and then squashing it into my carpet the next....life its a battle ground but i stick to my guns and i make the same meal for everyone every night, if he doesn't lie the veg he can pick it out! (i love you)
Anyway back to the book, its fab! she bases all her recipes around cooking one meal for the whole family that can be adapted to suit babies and children's needs and they are all delicious meals healthy and kind to both big and small tummys!, tuscan sausage stew is on the menu tonight! i really does work out cheaper to cook one meal, perhaps bulk cook and freeze some! i love the feeling of having good homemade food in the freezer if i need it for emergencies :)

oh no cradle cap!

My poor little boy Miles has a bad case of cradle cap on his head, he was born with beautiful dark brown punk hair which is now falling out on top :( he has gone from punk rocker to little old man in the space of a week, the doctor prescribed a special shampoo for him which is coconut oil and tar...lovely! but it does seem to be working, we tried olive oil to no avail, i really hope it will grow back as it was cool hair!

an introduction..

Good evening!
its rather late but im starting to write my new blog (new years resolution). Just a quick comment to say what to expect from my future posts!
My aim for this blog is to be an honest mum and give honest accounts of my moments in my life, my life changed when i had my daughter over 2 years ago from full time work, parties and romance to full time mummy, gymboree and 'quick the babies are asleep lets have a kiss'. Sounds fun huh? well it is! i love it, believe it or not my life is so much more fulfilling than it used to be, my day from beginning to end it filled with adventure and the odd tea break or two and i plan to let you all in on it! I have a great many hobbies including cooking so i will be posting lots of tasty family recipes and also just everyday things such as reviews and tips
